Since the release of Microsoft’s CRM product back in early 2003, businesses have been looking forward to upgrades to Microsoft CRM and add ons. Initially scheduled for release last year, Microsoft had pushed the release date forward to this year.

Those who had been optimistically anticipating the release of Microsoft CRM 2.0 this month, (and those extreme hopefuls who might have possibly been looking forward to a potential release of Microsoft CRM 2.1 and guide sometime soon after), will be disappointed as Microsoft announced another delay.

According to eWeek’s Dennis Callahan, Microsoft has delayed the release of the long-anticipated Microsoft CRM 2.0. It is now expected to be released to manufacturing in the last quarter, and available generally to other industries by the second quarter of 2006. In the meantime, customers will have to continue working with their existing Microsoft CRM 1.2 and guide themselves until they have access to the increased functionality promised by the new release.
